Well, unless you have a brand new one with USB interface, you need a RS-232 (9 pin) cable. Then you need a "decent laptop" (no 233's, you need at least a 700mhz for good performance from the software). Then just open the software, it will ask "online" or "offline" and it might ask if you want to connect through USB or serial...choose serial.
