Well I got the car jacked up to replace my head today and found out my driver's side front wheel bearing is shot, there's so much play the car is going to stay on jackstands after the new built head is installed.

Question is on OE replacement hubs is there a certain brand (i.e. timken) that tends to be the best?

Also, EBC or Brembo slotted rotors?

I replaced the passenger side front wheel bearing a few months ago and it was real stupid of me to not check the driver's side when I did so. The old hub wasn't in great shape but I was in a bind and needed the car so I re-used it, when I get back in there I will be replacing that one along with the driver's side.

Any and all advice is appreciated before I start ordering parts.
Thanks.

Honestly, what ever is a good price and has a good warranty, but Timken is pretty good OE stuff. As for the brakes, your pads will make more of a difference then changing your rotors and putting stock pads. Stock rotors are usually brembo's or you can get them by brembo from like auto zone or something. But if you can afford it hawk pads and some slotteds would kick ass also.

One warning - there is a hub available from NAPA that whilst being perfectly serviceable, has different dimension studs from OEM; The spline diameter is smaller than OEM, so you can't replace them with OEM or OEM-spec studs without boring out the stud holes in the hub.

I have no idea what these studs are or where they can be obtained, as I stuck my hub on the drill press then bashed a set of ARPs in. Hopefully NAPA nows where to get them from !
