Well I want to run 12s and still have a steady DD. I was thinking of going with this setup what do you guys think?

14b
255 FP
SAFC
AFPR
450cc injectors
Data logger
wideband

I have a 2g GSX with Greddy FMIC and Greddy RS bov.

I believe you will need to upgrade your turbo to a 16G or big 16G and increase your injectors to 550 or 650 depending on the turbo setup.

i would look into bigger injectors for sure also look into porting the turbo, manifold, and o2 maybe throw in some cams depending on your budget

Why do you plan on using a wally 255 with that size injectors? Its just way overkill until you go above 660s. If you bought a wally 190 or an evo 8/9 pump you could skip the afpr to save some $$$ for those larger injectors.

Go with a wally 190, 16g turbo and 600+ injectors. I would still get an afpr. I had a buddy running a maft with 560 injectors and a wally 190. No afpr, he ran a 13.5, he installed an afpr, set the desired pressure and ran a 12.8.

the 14B with your listed mods will not make it into the 12's... you would need cams, headwork, port anything that can be ported, bigger injectors, dsmlink to tune with the studderbox to get some boost on the line.. or just get a evoIII 16G with the supporting fuel mods...

You can get into the 12's with a 14b, but it will take more work and tuning than with a 16g.

For the money and effort spent, you would be better off going with an e316g and some 650's, and the SAFC/datalogger. You'll have a much better chance of hitting your goals with about the same amount of cash.

A wally 255hp and AFPR gives you plenty of room to grow, again for not much more initial cash.

its possible. id rather go with a 16g. my friend took his 1g awd laser into the 12's all he did was use a 2g maf, 14b with 7cm housing, safc, 255lph hp walbro, open dp, and mbc at 21psi

Im not saying it isn't possible to run 12's on a 14b turbo it is.It would just be a lot easier to hit your goal with a 16g and you wouldn't be pushing the turbo as hard. Which in turn would propbably give u better reliability in the long run.

upgrading to a 16g would be a good idea! its not to expensive and would still be a very good DD. Upgrading to bigger injectors would be good too, 550, 560, or 660 would work especailly with the wally 255. SAFC and AFPR would be a great idea LOL. Just the mods u listed wouldnt get you close to the desired time you want. Good luck

Thanks for the advice fellas. I apologize for not being completely clear in my OP. Ok what I want to do is see the best numbers I can get out of a 14b and stock motor. Meaning Im not looking to upgrade turbos or build the internals of the 4g63. I want to see the full potential of the 14b. I have the cash to get a 16g but that's not what I want to do right now....I just want to do a strictly 14b/4g63 (stock) project.

What are your goals after the 14b? If you're thinking about upgrading from that then I would just start out with the 255 to begin with. If you start with the 190 then you upgrade the turbo once your done with the 14b to say a 20g or 50trim, you're going to need the extra flow from the 255. The 190 doesn't like high boost.

Always keep your future in mind when upgrading.

I run a 190 with 650's and only have only had problems with flow dropping off above 27psi.

If I wanted to get a larger turbo, it would be time for a pump upgrade. I'd say a 190 can support 650's. After that you'd need larger pump.

Also, what type of clutch do you have? If it's the stocker, they don't like to go 12's.

The 450cc injectors are WAY to small. Stock is 440cc. You will need 550cc at least, I'd recommend 650cc's. I would also recommend a good clutch, if you don't already have one. You will also need a good exhaust, downpipe, o2 housing, and a ported exhaust manifold. The 14b is small, and will be strained to push your car into the 12's, it's possible but hard on the turbo, so it will not last long.

If your goal is to stick with the 14b, you will not need a 255 pump. I think that a 190 with 650 injectors should be about the max you need along with some form of management.

Well eventually the biggest turbo I'll go with will be the 16g, I currently have 3 inch apex exhaust kit, tubular headers, Act2100 street disc OEM flywheel, Tokico blues and springs, Greddy FMIC, Greddy RS bov, SAFC....I think that's about it.

Where the hell do you get your data from?

DSMTimes.org - Home (top 100 to run a 14b, im at 100, my friend Ryan Gast sits at #33....)

Stock injectors for ALL DSM's is 450.

255 is slightly overkill, but managable. 550's are most youll need on race gas, and an SAFC (first blue faced one)

With all that stuff, you should do 12's if you can drive the piss out of it! But, porting will help you immensely.

Hm...sounds good thanks for the advice. Would you guys recommend going with the 190 or 250 seeing how eventually a long time down the road LOL I MIGHT do the 16g. I'm getting a 250 for 40bucks used with no more than 10k miles on it....what you think?
