okay I had a friend tll me that one free mod is to turn the exhaust cam gear one tooth out of time with the intake, but he forgot which way to turn it. I would have to assume advancing it, but I dont know.

Does anyone know if this is legit?
If so which way do I turn it (clockwise, counter-clock)?

I am changing the belt tensioner tommorow so I figure it will be a perfect time to do this. Below is my motor so you will know what I have for a better answer..

stock 91 turbo cams
and then VVV

I WOULD NOT DO THAT, unless you have after market adjustable cam gears!!!!! I believe every tooth is around 15 or so degrees and I would not do it on a stock cam gear setup. I would find other things to do.

thanks I did not realize that one tooth was THAT much degree wise. I just got done swapping the tensioner and re-setting the timing, turns out I had the cams slighty out of time already. I got it all back perfectly timed and it started and idle better than it has in a long time. :thumb:
