2G Adapting Subaru turbo on DSM ?

I was donated a SBR Turbo (TD06H 20G) in good condition with acceptable shaft play as it was only ran for ≈1000miles.

Wondering if it is possible or even worth it to try and adapt it to a DSM.
As a turbo newbie, might seem simple enough to just swap the exhaust housing but I doubt it is that simple. Would love some input.

You would probably need a custom exhaust manifold to bolt onto the subi turbo flange. Same for the exhaust side. Other than that, it could work.

Sourcing a dsm flanged turbine housing factory cut for a td06h wheel may be difficult. But if you find one, it's easy enough to swap. However, an original 7cm MHI turbine housing from a Evo 1 or 2, or even a 6cm from a 14b should have enough meat to allow the turbine housing to be cut for the bigger wheel. The Evo 3 turbine housing, and all the eBay copies of it, will probably not have enough material to be cut. Also, cutting a well used housing may be difficult depending on the amount of carbon impregnated in the casting.

I would check with @JusMX141 or turbo lab or another turbo rebuilder near you.

Need a DSM turbine housing that's cut for a TD06H turbine. Cannot be a Genuine 78-13700 Evo III turbine housing or any of the aftermarket copies as the outlet flange is too thin to accept a turbine with a 58.8mm exducer...will need to be a 78-11830 or 78-10700 7cm2 housing...neither of which are easy to come by in good shape anymore.

It would be easier to swap the turbo to a TD05H turbine, then you can run almost any 16G turbine housing you'd wish. PM me if you need assistance with this...there will be balancing involved.
