act spits springs

Ok took it apart and found that my ACT 2900 had spit its springs after 500 miles. Sp heres the question the flywheel and pressure plate have some heat marks on them, is there a way to prep and reuse them?

i just posted in another thread that acts quality really went downhill, i had a fidanza 4.3 clutch kit in my car and it shifted great until it spit a spring, so i replaced it with an act street disk and 2600pp. now i have a lockout issue into 2nd gear, even if i over adjust the clutch it still happends, i dnt know what clutch company to try next. i really dont want to have to buy a twin disk setup but they seem to be the only clutches that work these days. you can cut the flywheel but throw the pressure plate away

ACT is usually very good when it come to replacing defective parts i know of several cases where they have sent out replacment parts because of springs poping out.

As far as a different single disc company that can be tried I have been contemplating using a South Bend Clutch. The company makes clutches for almost any application and have listings for dsms. They seem to mainly build clutches for industrial equipment and diesel pulling trucks. There are a few guys on the forums that use them but there doesn't seem to be alot of info wether or not they are good, bad or just decent. I've been wanting to do it but haven't looked into price of the kit and I don't want to be a guinea pig.

what about fingers on the pressure plate snapping off after maybe 5,000 miles if that with out track use on an act2600.
