ACT 2100 clutchs now 8 springs instead of 6?

My old ACT 2100 has 6 springs and the new one I just bought has 8 springs. Appears to be 4 larger springs with 4 smaller ones in the larger springs. Any information when this change was made and how this new one compairs to he older 6 spring style? I found he 6 spring to be rather chatty and had some annoying drivetrain noise. I figured it was all caused by the lighter ACT flywheel...

Well I must say so far his new clutch disk is much smoother then my old 6 spring disc. Just need to fix the misc cracking noise I get when turning now... I think it might be one of my axels...

Wow they got 8 spings in the hub, did you get pictures. I have a 6 spring one and agree on the chattering part, hows the new one.

It still chatters a little but it's a much softer chatter. I didn't get to test it much though since I'm having a axel/axels issue when turning...cracking noise when turning...eek! I do have pics. I'll post later.

Anyone know if the axels are suppose to snap or click back into the tranny? If so what's the best way to get it further in? Please check out my thread here.

Glad your clutch is working better for you. Now figure out which CV bearing is toast and replace it. A clutch won't produce the horrible echo a popping CV makes.

The 4 springs design is the newer design, after ACT had a LOT of problems with the springs popping out of the 6 spring design discs.
