My clutch is starting to slip once i hit my full boost of 16psi. I need to replace it soon. I was wondering if anyone has any pros or cons about the 2100? I need a good reliable clutch because my car is my daily driver. What's the disc life about on the 2100? Any suggestion is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

my car is getting an ACT 2100 clutch kit installed right now as we speak. i heard if you're lightly modded and dont race your car at the track alot then get the 2100. The 2600 is stronger clutch but a heavier load/clutch could increase your 2G's chance of crankwalk. I have the usual bolt ons and i'm running 15-16 psi on stock T-25 turbo. I heard the 2100 is probably the best clutch for a GST and the 2600 is good for the GSX. I heard if you dont really run your car at the track that the 2100 will probably outlast your car.. i'll let you know in a few days how it is when I go to pick up my car. also you should get stainless steele clutch line and use BG syncroshift transmission fluid and get a new throw out bearing.

if you treat it nicely it will last a long time...i have a 2600 with an act flywheel and i love my setup..i abuse the shit out of it and its still fine :thumb:

Ya i just purchased the act 2100 kit and the ACT X-ACT Chromoly Flywheel.. just waiting to install it now.. also have a phantom grip lsd in casing.. but im gonna just sell that now i dont think im gonna install that.. so if anyone wants that let me know. im curious on how the act is also i bought this car with a slipping clutch so i really dont know how well it performs yet in 3rd gear on up it slips like crazy.. it pulls very hard for a bad clutch so im very ancious to see how it does after its fixed.

I installed an ACt 2100 and XACt streetlight flywheel and a bm lsd insert about 4 months ago. I love the setup. Much better than stock and having a lightweight flywheel and lsd help a ton. I think you will be very happy getting a 2100 i wouldn't go much more than that on a fwd.

Should i get a LSD? What is the install cost on a LSD? I went out racing last night around Glen burnie and now my clutch is slipping so bad in high gear. Selling my boat tomorrow so i can buy my clutch and flywheel. Is the install on the clutch hard to do? i need to save some money so i'm gonna do the install, Thanks for all your replies about the setup.

How hard is the LSD to install on the gst? Also what TOB should i use? Should use a OEM TOB or the ACT one that comes with the kit? Please respond i'm ordering my clutch and my flywheel tomorrow. Thanks again.

Well first off only use an oem throwout bearing and all ACT kits sold now use the oem throwout bearing so you don't have to worry about that. Installing an lsd is very easy, it takes about an hour to do. I got the bm lsd insert b/c it has the highest spring rate in the market and i picked it up from www.bmtranny.com for $215 shipped. If you have the right tools and an extra person then installed a fwd clutch is not that bad. BTw if you have the tranny out you might as well get an lsd for an extra $200 because it will make a world of difference in a fwd. Traction is WAY better and so is the handling.

I have had my act 2100 and act xact 11lbs flywheel for severel months and about 15kmiles. All I can say is I am happy as can be. the thing holds every bit of power and is very good for daily use. I did a 500 mile break period, and Im glad I did as the car drives great and pulls hard as hell without anysign of slipping. you WILL be happy if you use this combo on a gst , as long as its installed correctly and driven right for 500 miles...meaning NO BOOST and no revs over 3000rpms.

thats awesome to hear im getting my x-act flywheel/and 2100lb act clutch in wednesday!

Ok i got my Act 2100 and flywheel in after waiting for months. I just got it in today and i have only put 45 miles on. I want to know if everyone elses clutch grabs when you barely let off the pedal. I have stalled out like 5 times because it grabs damn near the floor. I mean you let it out like 1/2 inch and bam! Is this normal or is there a way to adjust it? Also it grinds some going into reverse. Any suggestions??

LOL no revs over 3000rpm thats a bit exagerating.... just stay below 5grand and dont get on it..

I have been keeping it under 3k with revs. Will adjusting the pedal take away some of the grinding i get in reverse, could it be because it isn't adjusted right?

Exactly... it will.. see your pedal isnt adjusted right.. therefore its not fully pushing on the master cylinder .. just dont over adjust the pedal.. make sure your clutch has some freeplay at the top.. if not you will be just pumping up the clutch and it will get stiffer and stiffer.. and it will feel like your driving it around with the clutch in and eventually it will slip.. make sure to read that site i gave you and you will be fine man.. or goto vfaq.com theres so many resources available for our car you really shouldnt have to be asking me this..

it will also work itself out a little more over time....mine was like that when i first put it in too and now its about perfect...never adjusted anything either

I know about adjusting the rod i just wanted to know if it would stop my gears grinding. I had planned on adjusting it just didn't know if it would cure all my problems.

Yeah it will stop your gear grinding if you adjust it. I had that problem when first installed my 2100. It grabbed right off the floor and i loved it, but it would grind while going into reverse. Then it started to grind alittle going into first. I didn't mind it at first then i just adjusted it to the point where it would not grind in reverse and i left it like that. I haven't had any problems since. As far as clutch break in, don't listen to that crap about no revs past 3 grand and no boost. Boost has nothing to do with it. I wouldn't rev it past 5 grand, I wouldn't WOT at all in 1st and 2nd (fwd power gears). As far as boosting your fine. I did that for 500 miles and my clutch is grabbing great even after 5000 miles.

BTW: the more you drive it in stop and go situations the better break in you make for the clutch. Driving 500 highway miles does nothing for break in. If you repeatedly use the clutch then it will match the flywheel in no time.

so a 2100 should hold up pretty good in a awd right? as long as i dont do repeated launches, and i do the proper break in proccess

I have the 2100 in my car. I like it. it holds, but it feels like a stock clutch. Maybe i'll get a 2600 someday, i'm not man enough yet.

id say if youre gonna buy one, go ahead and get the 2600, you WILL do launches and probably regret getting the 2100...just something to think about

but i have heard bad thing bout the 2600. what is your overall rating of the 2600, street wise?

also have you had any problems with the rest of your drivetrain, cuz of the high clamping 4ce of the clutch?
