Not to shit on anyone's enthusiasm but this has to be the most useless thing ever. Talk about an oxymoron. It is a spark plug COVER! As in to cover and hide the spark plugs and wires. Making it clear just makes no sense. Want to see your wires? Take it off! Less stuff to mess with and the car will weigh less. To each his own I guess.

Then I suppose the Zaklee clear camgear cover is useless too? WTF

I see the irony in your wordplay, but its just cosmetics... who cares? Clearly if these guys wanted any other material they have the resources to do it correctly.

People who have pretty, clean wire gutters may want to show them off.

IF anny one wants to a copy, here is the autocad drawing ;) tapa acrilico 6mm.dwg

Does this have accurate bolt holes? I might have to just post up my CAD spark plug wire separators...

Cool thanks Wes, btw did you get your vc powdercoated or its just paint? i've been looking for that color!

Actually yes it is. I don't need to let everyone know if I have adjustable cam gears, and I don't need to spend $100 if I did want to. They are probably set at zero anyway. The stock cover does it's job fine.

Plus the cam gear cover serves a purpose of protecting the timing belt. The spark plug cover is purely aesthetic. That's why %99 of people take it off.

If you don't want someones opinion on something don't post it on the internet. I get some people get off on this kind of stuff but if your going to post something on the internet be ready for the good and the bad.

Solidworks part file

Eparts model

how about a merger?
i lost mine to an engine overheat a few months ago.
figured i know a little about solidworks might as well try making one.
after burning myself a few times on the AZ oven, got the dimensions from the VC and got to work

the drawing doesnt show it, but the main body holes are m10, and for the sp wire holders, 7.5mm

I'm really liking these covers. I might have to tackle this this weekend. If I have some time I will model up a new wire holder that fits into the stock location. I think anodized aluminium would look pretty bad ass. Something I'm sure a group buy would be worth doing? The only problem I see would be that each person has a different amount of layers of pain/powder on their VCs, which would cause some clearance issues.

Anyone make a spark plug cover in a dxf file? I have a few contacts that can CNC them.

the Solidworks part file in my last post can be saved as a dxf, but it takes up quite a bit more room, your contacts could probably do it for you if you brought them the file

i believe it was mentioned in the other thread by knochgoon24, the clearance on the flat covers barely touches the plugs, if people have those that are stamped/raised the clearance will be close to stock

not to mention you could always throw a washer inbetween it and the VC to achieve the clearance you desire

I was talking about replacement wire holders, not the spark plug cover
