Hey guys,

I've been keeping track of my GST's performance, and I've noticed that when I'm on a full tank, I have better acceleration than on a quarter tank or lower (when acceleration is worse than crappy).

Also, there is a ticking sound when the car idles (which I think is the sound of bad fuel injectors).

Is there a problem with my fuel system?

Has anyone else been experiencing similar problems? Any feedback would be appreciated.

The ticking could be an exhaust leak. Could be noisy lifters. Or could be an injector.

Gas tanks are pressurized so with a full tank you should be getting better fuel flow.

I don't know why the accelleration sucks, but I can say there is close to 100% chance the ticking is just your lifters, which is normal with our engines. Maybe you could try a fuel system cleaner, someone might suggest a good one or say I'm wrong.

The lifters? :) I didn't even think about that, thanks TJ.

The ticking is probably unrelated to the full tank vs. quarter tank issue, tho?
