Ok so it just started to get hot outside right so i went to using my ac. Well i used my ac for about a week untill i noticed the floor of my car was completly soaked and it was starting to smell. Well i got the hair dryer out and dried the thing out took about two days. But my car still smells. I took it in to the dealership and they said my hose was turned around buyt they fixed it. How do i get the smell out of my car though???? :dsm:
thanks in advance!

Try going to walmart or somewhere like that, and get these absorbant bag things you can put in your car to absorb any moisture first off. Sorry I cant remember what the name of them are. Second the only other thing I can tell you to try is after you have gotten all the hidden moisture out. spray the hell out of it w/ febreeze. Better if you can remove the carpet and let it sit outside the car to air out after the febreeze. Hope that helps some. Goodluck:)

I wouldn't spray the hell out of it with Febreeze, or anything else. It'll just be as bad with the lingering smell of Febreeze or whatever you use. The constant smell of Febreeze would give me nausea. The best thing to do is to replace the carpet, but that may not be feasible. Where exactly did it get wet? Under the carpet, or the surface? I'm thinking that it's still wet under the carpet and mold and mildew are forming and causing the smell. If that's the case, you should remove the carpet and dry off the floor and carpet and kill all the mold and mildew. If it's just the surface, Griot's Garage sells odor absorbers. I think it's worth it to give them a try.

If you take a moment and read what I posted. I said to get rid of the moisture FIRST! Nothing wrong with febreeze. It doesnt mask the smell it will eliminate it. As far as how strong febreeze is. Thats why I said its better if you can let it AIR out. Outside the car after you spray it. Your telling a mother who has been dealing with laundry from little boys for years LOL. Also Im not saying there arent ALOT of options to get rid of the problem. Thats just seems to be the cheapest. I do agree tho if mold has become a problem than that is something not to be ignored. It can be an extreme health hazzard.

Yes, I took a moment and read what you posted. Where did ever say I disagreed with removing the moisture first? If you took a moment and read what I posted, I said that you should remove the carpet and dry off the floor and carpet. As for the Febreeze scent, maybe my sense of smell is sensitive. I can smell even the lightest scent of anything. I can't stand any constant smell of any sort for long periods of time.
