so this is going to sound stupied but i cant find a replacement ac pully i keep finding them and one site says it works then another site says the part number dosnt work for my car its a 96 gst and the part number i keep coming up with is W0133-1833537 so is that the right one and can you find it cheeper the $$$108
 
I can't help you as far as finding the pulley. But why not get a remaned a/c pump. You are giong to have to pull hte pump off of your car to replace the pulley and the tool to change it with will cost more than a good reman pump. Harbor freight has cheap diy vacuum pump and napa sells the cans for a few bucks. i have a good used pump cheap if you need it.
 
i removed my a/c 95 n/a.. the idle pulley kept wearing out, and squeaking.. very annoying..the a/c's clutch wasnt engageing anyway..the belt would sometimes fall off too..i'm thinking the pulley got out of whack some how.. shaved well over 50'lbs pulleies and all.. thinking about getting something smaller and lighter to replace it.. electric etc.. it's nice to be lighter, but when it's 100*+ it sux.. when your not moving. oddly tho simply waxing the car, makes it a bit cooler on the inside despite the black roof.. XD
 
well i live in Tucson where it gets over 110 in the shade so ac is a must and i put a new ac compressor on it then the pulley for the belt tensioner started to squeak so i need the pulley for the belt tensioner.

napa really helped me out here, and so did car quest.. the guys here were good ol boys, with a southern accent etc and didnt mind me working on this dsm in their parking lot.. what fixed this similar issue was finding a bigger pulley with better bearings..and then a longer belt but not way too long ya know.. they were patient as i brought back pullies and belts and greased up their doors with extrodinarily sticky engine crap.. i was appreciative of the help and cleaned up good.

you have to be able to tighten it, use the same mechanisim..that simply falls into place and tension holds.. you'll see it.. a hayse manual had enough details to be really helpful this time too.. but even a simple how-to go a long way sometimes.. all without taking up more space width wise and inline with the old pulley or better... sounds tricky.. but if u don't revv that bejesus out of it.. when it fails the parts are likely still good.. often the bellt would fall off.. wrong groove's or out of line.. it'd walk off.. stupid bs...

get one that can be lubricated or has sealed lubricant...and sturdy free rolling bearings. that wont bind on the bolts assembly.. and made to get wet etc.. mitsubishi may have a replacement.. but if it's anything like the old one.. there isn't much there..or the one i had was way beyond it's use.. it was just a teflon sleeve.. other aftermarket ones had open ball bearings and quickly wore out..


i simply removed mine even after all that hassle.. just to lighten it for gas milage..figure 40mpg+ was worth bearing the heat.. but again i'm proven wrong.. va has very humid.. and hot summers.. i hope you get yours fixed or find a suitable replacement.
