Right now, I'm not getting any cold air. I can jump the compressor, and it takes in freon. I put in three cans. It looks like the compressor is not coming on. I've searched this problem, and found no real solution to this problem. I found some post referring to the AC control unit. Is this the reason I am not getting cold air? Is the control unit the entire center piece above the radio? Is this the reason I am not getting air?

Is the compressor coming on at all or is the pulley just idling?

What are your high/low side pressures reading on your A/C manifold?, hopefully you are using one, if not take it to a shop that does A/C.

This morning it didn't come on again. Originally I jumped it strait to the battery, put in three cans of R134. That was Sunday. Monday, I drove to and from work, and the air was cold. Now, today, not on again. What would cause the compressor to not turn on?

There's a pressure switch on the AC line that could cause it to not come on if the switch is faulty or you don't have enough pressure. There is also a coolant temp sensor dedicated for the AC. If that sensor is malfunctioning, or you're overheating the car, it will turn the AC off.

Do you know where this faulty switch is located? Is it in the engine compartment or inside the car?

Both are in the engine compartment. The pressure switch should be on the AC line on the passenger side of the car. The coolant switch is one of the ones on the top half of the thermostat housing.
