ok here is what i am thinking has happened. about 3 days ago i was heading over to fiances work when the same issue with my tranny happened (got stuck in limp mode). so this dude in a van wasn't paying attention about sideswipped me so i had to gas it to get out of way. well i shot up around 5k-6k then i settled down to around 2500-3000 k. after i started slowing down i started to here a loud grinding noise and then when i went to turn on to the road to fiances work car died. there was no sputter or spitting it just died. i also notice oil light was on when it came to a stop. i tried to restart it and there was nothing. it is getting power but no fire no attempt to even turn over. can someone give me a possible reason besides what i am thinking (blown motor).

well my car made neat noises like that 5 mins before my motor took a shit, it crankwalked but i noticed you have a NT car..so im assuming its not that. how does your timing belt look? timing on? do you have spark? fuel? compression? is there oil in the motor?...it doesnt sound good but who knows

Typical sounds an engine makes right before it locks up from lack of oil. You just seized your pistons to the cylinder walls. Here's how to verify. Jack front end of the car up. Remove driv. side wheel. Remove plastic shields. STick 1/2" extension into the crank pulley and try to turn it. If it don't turn at all, ur fuct. Time for a new block.

yeah when i seen the oil light come on and i tried to restart it and there was nothing. i mean nothing at all no sound of trying to turn over there was a small sound of the starter turning over i think but that is it. but fortunatelly i found a motor and a new ecu for my car the guy is going to put it in for 1600.00 but i can't get a loan for it cause of sh**y credit. so i guess i am fubar'd. god my life sucks right now. :thumbdown :barf:

see that is just the thing the car does leak oil, doesn't burn oil, and i just got the oil changed like no more then a month 1/2 ago. so there is no way that it was out of oil. but i just think that i am screwed and i need to get a yugo or something.

anyone got a gsx for sale cheap :thumb: :D

well see i know my ecu is crap cause of what keeps happening with my transmission. i have a diode (sp?) that keeps over heating and causing it to go into limp mode (but don't get the check engine light). so i am confused on rather it is a blown motor cause of having to drive the car in limp mode so much that the engine finally went out or if the ecu just finally went out. if anyone has any for certain ideas of what the issue is i really need them.
