I've read just about every thing I could find about "cold starting noises & problems" exc... Most of the problems seemed to be Starter related. None of them describe my specific symptoms or problems. Let me start out by saying this issue started about 4 days after I had my timing belt done at the local Hyundai Dealership (where I work). I used OEM Hyundai G4CS belts & pulleys and a Mitsu Tensioner.
Symptom: Upon a cold start situations the *first* and only *first* crank their is a brake peddle vibration along with almost the EXACT sound of a bad rear power antenna that wont move up/down coming from behind my gage cluster near the firewall.
I've been living with the problem for about 2 months. I've been cranking the ignition over once quickly in the morning allowing the sound and vibration only to happen sightly. If I start the car without doing this the vibrations happen 3-5 seconds, it becomes much louder, and I can feel it in the steering wheel ever so slightly.
I've had a technician look at my car, but it is very had to explain, let alone, the problem only happen upon the very *first* crank. It never happens once the car has been started. Coming into winter where it becomes even harder to start these bastards I would like to know if anyone has heard of an ABS module failing this way, I haven't seen any codes via DSMlink about the ABS, and have no other symptoms. Thanks..
Ps. This is happening with both my stock MAF and MAFT...
