I already deleted my ABS and AC, now I am getting rid of the 2 cooling fans. I am wondering if I can just pull the fans and take out all of the wires that go to and from the relays and fuses for the fans including the ones in the fuse box? I plan on putting on one, nice big slim fan and using the old main abs power feed to run the fan. This way the fan would be running whenever the key is turned to the on position and I could get rid of the4 wires that run to each of the stock fans. Please do not tell me how much work it is or that it is not worth it, because it is worth it to me. I have the harness completly stripped down and already removed the following: fog light wires, ac wires, all abs wires but the main power wire. Will I have any problems removing all of the fan relays and associated wires? thanks!

the only bad you will run into is the fact that the ecu will no longer have control of the fan. also, having the fan turn on from the moment you start the car will take the engine a lot longer to warm up to normal working temps and you will also put load on the fan when driving highway speeds, unless ofcourse you install a switch.

But I see you have dsmlink and wanting to go V3, in v3 you can click on a box and the fan will stay on all the time, saving you all that trouble. i have one FAL slim fan and that thing sucks a lot of current, cools quickly and is laud. if i keep it running my engine cant hold normal temps and thats bad for a daily driver.

one idea i had, since i too removed my a/c, was to rewire the a/c button to manually turn on the fan or let the ecu turn it on but i never got around to it since my temps stay just fine.

Do I need to keep all 4 wires going to my alternator? I was getting rid of all the wires going to and from my fan relays and found that 2 of these wires ended at the alternator???? Are these necessary? Thanks!

-car is only driven in the summer
-I do not care how loud or often my fan is running
- Life of the fan does not matter to me either, as I can get them very cheap through work
- I will have it on a switch for the occasional cold morning and freeway cruising. I do not feel it will be "under load" on the freeway and may still help out at 80mph due to the massive intercooler I'm using....

Thanks for all of the help!
