Winnipeg,
Hello fellow DSMers,

First off, I will say that I hate ABS and if I wasn't so picky about everything working, this wouldn't be a problem.

Here it goes ; my ABS system is SUPER sensitive since it came back from the shop. Lets say I am slowing down to a stop sign, dry roads, then at about 10km/h the ABS kicks in! Another example, I am doing 80km/h and tap the breaks, it kicks in!

The first thing I did was call the shop that replaced my Axel Seals, and they said they didn't touch anything that would affect it. Anyways, on going argument about that with them, since it wasn't happening before.

I have disconnect the ABS and removed the lamp for the ABS light for now.

But does anyone have any ideas?

Thank you in advance,

Greg

If I am not mistaken, on FWD cars the abs sensor reads a "sprocket" that is on the axle, right at the spindle. From my experience with these, the slightest amount of damage to that "sprocket" will cause them to act up; also grease being stuck in the "sprocket" will also cause this effect. I would take it back to them and have them lift it on the hoist and inspect this area. This area gets damaged sometimes when they use a pry-bar to pop the axle out of the spindle.

Well, ABS runs off a speed sensor and it sounds like the "brain" of your ABS doesnt know how fast you are going.

I dont know how much you know about ABS but the wheel speed sensors are the gear looking ring at the end of your CV shafts. I would start by making sure the "teeth" are cleaned out of dirt and grease and make sure the actual sensor is plugged in and didnt accidently come detached.

Thanks for the help!! Till I get some time to take the wheels off the front, I am just going to leave the ABS disconnected, I had to take out the bulb for the ABS light aswell. Lights there make me worry :p
