yeah was planning on that just needed to figure out which style i like.

Upgrade your your springs and for god sake get better cams then those cheap bc 272. Maybe set of gsc s2 will give you power for your hx40.

they came with the car when i picked it up. I will be getting a curt brown pnp head after this coming racing season with some better cams as i want to bring the rpms up some and will do the new springs and retainers at the same time

this is the route i plan on going as well

total including buying the car was about 7-8 thousand.

company that made the air freshener she said she got it thru jegs for free when she bought me some car parts for my birthday. dont know if they actually sell them or if it was a promo item though.

found out as i started tearing into it i was totally fed a line of crap about the car and it was a rolling pos.

so without wasting any time i decided what the car needed and that was new everything because i didnt know what he had screwed up in his build.

step 1

gut the bay. later removed all the rest of the brake lines and cleaned inspected and repainted them. also dropped steering rack and front subframe for all new bushings and installed a manual rack.

now it was time to put it in the garage and start doing the motor

back from the machine shop. bored, decked, align honed and rotating assembly balanced

step one paint the block

step 2 crank in and tightened with the bearings to test tolerances

cleaned the front case and the oil pump gears and installed all new gaskets

bolted head down and retested torque settings next day

decided to clean up the valve cover

and some other accessories, manifold was shortly sold and a jmf install

ready for timing belt and small accessories to be installed. later the alternator would be relocated to make room for turbo and side exit exhaust

look ma no engine hoist (new motor mounts were installed after the tranny was in the car to allow for some wiggle in the install.)

Good setup your more then good on making 350whp. I made that on a stock 7 bolt auto fwd with evo 3 16g and e85. It will be easy enjoy the power.
