Time to get started on my first engine build, here's what I have so far:

BLOCK
'94 turbo block
Eagle 7-bolt crank
Eagle rods
Wiseco 8.3 pistons, 0.020 over
ARP rod & main studs
BS eliminator kit
King main & rod bearings

HEAD
1g head
OEM valves
BC 280 cams
BS springs/retainers
Ferrea seals
Bronze guides
ARP head studs
3g revised lifters

Now a few questions:

I currently have an ACT 2100 w/ street disc kit that has about 8k miles on it, would it be ok to keep and re-use this clutch or get a new one?

Does Mitsu make a .020 over MLS head gasket?

I'll be getting a new water pump, clutch slave(the master is almost brand new), oil pump, and timing belt...did I forget anything?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Feel free to share experiences on your own builds, I'd like to get an idea of what I have ahead of me. Thanks.

For now, I would use the clutch you have to break in your engine. After the motor is broken in, you may consider upgrading. The reason being, you don't want to be breaking in a motor and new clutch at the same time, a common mistake. They are independent entities, and I would do one at a time.

Unless you have had problems in the past with your oil pump, I would not buy a new one. If you have plenty of money, go ahead, but it isn't *needed*.

Eagle rods come with ARP rod bolts already installed, so there is no need to buy the rod bolts.

- Definitely follow vfaq instructions for the BS elimination.
- Make sure to prime the oil pump gears as per vfaq instruction.
- Save some money for miscellaneous stuff; as much as you may think you've thought of everything, you will undoubtedly realize you need something. Funny side note, this realization always happens during the most important/exciting part of the build, and, coincidentally, all auto parts stores and the dealer are closed or close RIGHT THEN.

The most important piece of advice I can give you is spend money where it counts and pay attention to detail. Even if it takes you 4 times longer to build your engine, you will have the confidence and peace of mind that your engine is done correctly. Clearancing bearings, applying proper torque as per specs, assembling everything in order and correctly, etc.

Don't be afraid to ask anything or double check anything. I suggest keeping this site and vfaq open while you're assembling so that, if you need to, you can run to the computer and look something up quickly. Oh, and good luck! :D

Also have a question about main caps, are the stock ones ok to use?? When I bought my bare block that's the one thing I forgot about, and now I desperately need them, if anybody has any laying around I'd love to buy them from you!

EDIT: Searched and found that stock caps will be fine for my power level, but I still need a set nonetheless.

Hey man OT but I see that you are in Tally. Let me know if you want to get together sometime or need any help
