I am installing my ssautochrome header on wednesday. Are there any pointers/warning anyone has. I have never installed a header but I am pretty handy with a wrench and my dad has been a mechanic and hard core car guy for 40 sum odd years.

Ya, spray the thing down with Pb blaster for a while before you try and take the bolts off. It will help a lot.

Me and my dad are gonna do it as soon as I get out of school.
here is the list so fa:
1.) I PB blasted it yesterday, I am about to do it again, and ill prolly do it tomorow before I start.
2.) Do it when the mani is warm
3.) have an extra set of hands

is this it? About how long should it take?

i've never installed headers, but i'd imagine its just like any exhaust install. IT will take the longest getting the thing off, and a couple minutes to bolt the new one on.

igopoopy- i feel you on that, i broke 3 bolts into my turbine housing during my 16g install :|

i can have my mani on/off in 45 min ( but i aint-seize everything every time i remove it )
it would be a nice time to toss in some SS studs.. but it looks like your planning on doing this real soon.

It took me about one hour to get the thing off of my car. I sprayed the manifold down for about a week before I tried to crack the bolts off. Shouldn't be to hard with two peple, most of the probles that I had were caused from having to go and search for tools.

Make sure you bring your little book of swear words for when you try break loose that bolt and you rack your knuckles on something... and remember, show those bolts who's the boss ;) :thumb:
