Replacing headgasket, any pointers?

Head gasket blew on my 91 TSI. Before I started I wanted to know if anyone who has done this can give me some pointers. Maybe a spreadsheet on it?

The whole MLS vs composite gasket is pretty much BS as well. A few wisemen and moderators have said this as well.

I do believe Paul commented on this a day or two ago in another thread saying he has ran both and said they hold up just as well. He also showed some a neat trick for sealing gaskets under extreme boost pressure with a ring around your cylinders. If you can find it you should check it out.
