Hey guys!

I have been on the look for a more practical vehicle to replace my Mustang Cobra Convertible. I have been looking for something AWD and turbo and just yeasterday a low-mile (71k) 1995 Talon TSI popped up in my area!!! I am going to look at it on Thursday and the lowest he will go is $5400 with an extra set of wheels with blizzak winter tires on them. Is this a good deal? The car is STOCK and has a little bit of rush on the front fenders.

Pic of my cobra I'm going to sell:

Thanks!

He won't go any lower then 5400, his original asking price was 6400!

I will be sure to look under the car for more rust!

How much can these cars handle with the stock turbo?

If it has a lot of rust, keep looking. That is what a spotless 2Ga with that kind of mileage usually goes for around here.

On the stock turbo and fuel system, you can only push 15psi. I wouldn't even push the t25 that hard though.

Thanks man, I go to school at NDSU. Maybe I'll see your talon around!

i would definatley go for the talon, expecially if your prepared to do all basic maitnence when you buy the car. you wont regret it! they are known for being unreliable because kids just crank the boost up and mod it without doing simple matinence first...anyways that talon looks clean man, like the others said, take it for a thourough test drive, go through the car, and try and give him any reason to knock the price down a bit, id say if u can get him down to 5k take it, its very hard to find a stock talon, or even any talon thats not a heap now n days. goodluck man!

There good cars but I would diff. look over the engine bay real carefully. A lot of people selling performance cars will take all the mods off and and try to turn it back to stock. Depending on the age of the owner it could be straght. Just look over it real good. Thats some serious cash to throw down.

Make sure you run it through the gears to check for grinds and possibly a compression check. I think it is a good deal for what it is though, no doubt. PLEASE do not get a honda. You WILL regret it, especially coming from a cobra.

Well guys I have kind of an update.....

The guy wouldn't come down to 5k... so I passed and bought a 2008 mazdaspeed3. I have driven the spped3 for the past four months and decided to sell it a couple days ago to help free up some cash. I sold the ms3 for 3k more then I paid for it 6 months ago so I made out pretty well.

So I'm cruising craigslist and what do I see?!?! This 95 eagle talon tsi is STILL FOR SALE four months later, same guy and everything. Let's see what his lowest price is now... =)

It's a bit high! But if everything looks good & Drives right! Go for it and don't look back! You will love the Talon! I would not buy the FWD Civic.. you will never have the power with that car! Good luck

Dooooo IT

i hear a lot of good things about the ms3, what didn't you like about it.

The MS3 is a great car, but I had an opportunity to sell it for a lot more then I bought it for and had to take it...

Another update:

I offered the guy $5000 for the SECOND time and he still won't take it, even though he has been trying to sell the car for over 4 months...

$5400 for a 17 year old car w/rust and all stock? Too much. Pass and find something else.

And all his "mods"/extras that he lists are cosmetic sprinkles that you don't get your money back on. I love the oil change every 3,000 miles bit
