Well i went up to the junkyard today to find a 2G shift knob for my 1G i cant stand the stock one, i kinda figured i wouldnt find one turns out i didnt i was messin around in this late 80"s honda accord bangin the doors into other cars just payback for every time i get annoyed from a honda with a coffe can for an exhaust
well i decided to see if my shift knob would fit on it and it did so i looked at the one it had and it was alot smaller and had the same shift pattern which i really wouldnt of cared if it didnt the guy charged me 2 bucks for it i got back into my car screwed it on and oh what a difference much firmer shifts shorter throws i love it my complements to the honda engineer that designed it heres some pics i hope they work i tryed to load pics once before and it didnt.
 
it didnt work can someone explain to me how to load pictures please
 
Under the reply to thread box there is another box for "additional options." Go to that and click "upload photos" and find them on your computer. If they are too large then resize them via paint or something easy.
 
Firmer shifts and shorter throw from just a different shifter? The shirting wont change, and as for the throw its not a true shorter throw, thats like saying that people that cut the stock shifters, have a shorter throw, its just a shorter shifter. If you want a shorter throw then get a fidanza, pilot or other such short throw shifters.

Actually if you think about the mathmatics to the people that cut the shifters it is a shorter throw. Think about it the rod is shorter, so that rod has to move a shorter distance in order to get the same results that were found from the longer rod before. Sure the spot that is now the top always moved that same distance, but your hand was up above that. It would make shifting a little more stiff because it takes more force in order to move it when the point of load is closer to the fulcrum of the action. The closer the load is applied to the fulcrum, the shorter distance the load must move in order to get the final results but more load must be applied to get it there. Take a bat and tie it to your shifter (tape whatever) and then shift from the very top end of the bat and say that isnt longer than just the shift nob itself.

Yes I totally get what you are saying but...its not a true short shifter, and this guy didnt cut his shifter or anything, he just put a little bit smaller shift knob on it, and I was just using the "cutting the stock shifter rod" as an example.
