A/T tranny is shot

Hey guys im totally new to DSM cars and i just got a 96 eclipse turbo automatic from my buddy and it runs but the tranny is shot. I need help on figuring out what trannys would be compatible for this car. Would really appreciate your input. thanks guys.

Another auto trans out of a 2g car.

Welcome to the never-ending journey of working on your dsm!

Any auto trans from a FWD 95-99 turbo dsm will work (F4A33). An auto trans from a 2.4 should work as well (FA423). The auto trans out of a non turbo 420A will not work (F4AC1). Nor will an auto trans from an AWD dsm work (W4A33). There's always the option of swapping to a manual although its kinda early for you to be thinking about that depending how well you are mechanically, but you might end up wanting to later on anyway.

i was going to say maybe swap it with a manual tranny, but that would require you doing alot more work (such as getting a manual tranny/2g turbo ecu? someone correct me if im wrong probably more stuff too) than just dropping in an auto tranny
