ok...i have some audiobahn components for the front of my car and i want to mount it where the 3 inch dash speakers r right now. i was told that i can use the wires thats there right now. but can someone help me with how i have to connect these wires cause im not sure. i have a aftermarket deck right now and no factory amp (it was removed before i got the car) but the 3 inch speakers still work.....its a 97 eclipse by the way

ok crossing my fingers that you do have a component set>>>

first the dash speakers are not 3 inches... but you can modify them to accept the tweeter from your component set.

they should not play using the deck unless the amp under the seat has been bypassed...or you never had an amp to begin with.
check if they are on the black plug or the white plug.

if you are using a component set (that has a crossover and seperate mid and tweet)
you want them (the new tweets) on the white connector, then you want to find the factory amp plug under the seat...

you can use the factory tweeter wires and factory door wires from that plug to connect to your xovers under the seat, and then pick up headunit or amp power to the xover directly.

this is the easiest way to install a component set in the 2g eclipse/talon

see also my tech article with the wiring colors under interior exterior.
