A Little Help with Some MAJOR Problems!!!???

:talon: I have a few problems to share; #1- It feels like fuel cut, but I cant get past 4 1/2grand in any gear, whether I am boosting or not, no matter if I speed through or slowly get there, I cant get it, WTF??? :confused: #2- Lately, my car has had trouble starting, it turns over, but doesnt start fully (whether it's cold or not)... I have a feeling it is the fuel system, but i cant find the fuel filter, where is the location on the 4g63's, 2nd gen's and I need Pictures, of course.... #3- my plugs keep getting fouled, all the time..... I need some help bad, and I am not afraid to ask for help............ :talon:
 
well put oldman- the comp. should not drop anywhere below 165 at least- maybe it is simple- like maybe your FPR hose is not connected- i put my strut tower bar on and i had somehow started lossing power like fuel cut at 4300rpm- i was baffled b/c i installed a strut bar- nothing that has to do with the engine, but somehow my FPR got very loose and the hose was disconnected- i ended up buying a aero- AFPR to fix it so i dont worry- listen to the people- trust your car with YOURself.
 
Compression readings to be abnormal:

1. Timing off
2. Piston rings fried
3. Valve seals or burn valves
4. Leaky headgasket

But like Oldman said, BOOST LEAK TEST FIRST!! LOL You would be surprised what you can find with that test.

Of course you have a master mechanic, so I'm sure both of you already new this.

I would check the ECU ASap (Do it yourself).

I have literally sold hundreds of sets of ECU capacitors on Ebay, so I am well aware of the symptoms. Franklly trying to troubleshoot the other things before checking the ECU is kinda silly. As it controls the fuel system and the timing.

Except the boost leaks, I won't argue against that. But actually a boost leak probably won't keep it from starting. The ECU sure can.

ECU is at the top of troubleshooting list with a DSM.

Just to let you know he has a 2G DSM, not a 1G. The 1G DSM's had the leaky capacitor problem, the likely hood of that happending to a 2G is slim but it is possible but slim. I have my original ECU from 1995 (2G) and it is still going LOL.

He just bought a set off me to fix it LOL
 
Okay, he said that I was running way to rich somehow, and my fuel pressure wasn't where it should be. My SAFC-II was at almost stock settings (reasons being until I find the pressure leak, then I will tune according to my setup), so he finally got it started on it. He said he did find a leak in the TB, and a vacuum hose too, so that might be why I can't get past 4 1/2 grand, or not, well at least I am one step closer to getting it fixed.
