A little help on my wifes 96 RS

Bear with me...I have a 92 Autocross Miata. My wifes 96 RS apparently found out it was getting sold because the CEL came on....I am getting a code 0302 misfire on 2 cylinder. I've replaced the plug and plug wire to no avail....light is still there and not resetting. It seems to drive just fine, but I have a feeling once it warms up it will happen again. The problem, lost power during driving...almost dies when you come to a stop. Any help is appreciated. I am off to get the book on how to tune this thing. Any help with the general tune up on this beast is appreciated. Possibly a coil pack going out?
