I did searches etc on pulling engine and what needs to be taken out of the way. However i am doing this a little different because i am pulling "everything" from the engine bay to have the engine bay painted while the engine is out."350 Z Blue" Anyway i have pulled EVERYTHING to where the front of the car is a skeleton.Well i am pulling the engine and tranny out together and they say i need to remove power steering and alternator to do this.Well it looks like i have clearance since the radiator and everything is out there is just the chassis member going across there on top and bottom at the front of the car. I disconnected everything all the way around and pulled axles out. It looks like i can do this if i tilt on the tranny side and pull out.Does anyone know if i can do this without pulling the power steering pump and alternator? I will try and post a pic later of how bare the car is around the front area for clearance. Its going to the paint booth to get the engine painted the right way after i do this and dropping a built 6bolt in.Just need some input on this last part of pulling it out.The only thing connecting to the engine right now is motor mounts. No wires no nothing. Thanks, Travis

You can leave all the access. on but to not scratch new paint I suggest pulling the trans off the motor, dropping the trans fromt he bottom then pulling the motor from the top. Your good to go man :thumb:

I took care of the ac etc by pulling the big line from the firewall and taking it up over the top of engine to get it out of the way.The other ac lines etc taken completely out of the way.I am taking it out one piece with tranny then after getting it painted either do tranny separate or put towels along side of it to keep from scratching the paint. For the pulling out though, i have read enough to convince me i can take tranny and motor at the same time.Just needed to see if i can leave the power steering etc on.Thanks for the inputs.Heres a pic of all that i have pulled so far.Let me know what you think. Thanks,Travis

See, i have a lot of room forward of the engine that i can work and if i pull the motor mounts all the way from the tranny and timing belt side.I think it will come out "without" pulling the P/S and alternator. What do you guys think.Heres the built 6bolt thats going in along with ACT 2600 and fidanza flywheel.

I say pull the accessories off to be on the safe side, although in my 1g i didnt take the trans or any acces. off and it wasnt hard getting out, but getting back in all togeather was a real pain.

Finally i got it out! I had to pull power steering but left alternator on. Everything is pulled from the sidewalls to paint it 350z blue this week. Then the 6bolt goes in.Damn i hope i can get all that stuff hooked back to the right place.THATS A lot of wires once everything is out.Anyway thanks for the inputs,Travis
