A few questions about 2G

I was working on the car today that i have had for less than 2 weeks and i found this wire that was just hanging in the engine bay. It connects close to the turbo and i have no idea what it is for. if anyone could help out i would greatly appreciate it. On the third pic down i have a question about the "Custom" BOV that the guy did that owned it before me. He told me he modified it to make it louder. Is there any suggestion on how to repair it with a aftermarket BOV. Thanks a lot guys, i appreciate it!

I'm not sure but that plug looks like the cooling fan plug, does he have the fans hooked up to a switch inside the car?

Uh that BOV looks like it is ass and that he tried to jb weld the vacuum nipple back on.

As for the wire, I can't tell for sure but it looks like it goes to the o2 sensor and that end would go over near the thermostat housing where the plug is. I may be wrong though. Just the way it looks to me.

is it coming off the o2? ^pretty sure its over by the thermostat^
and thats def custom.. custom POS....

that o2 wire connection is located on the left side of the engine bay. right were it mates the tranny bell housing and the block. Usually that wire is ran on the exhaust manifold heat shield and towards that area, below the thermostat housing.

"Custom POS", tell me about it. Im going to look for the other end of that plug by the trany when i jack up the car. How can i repair the "POS BOV"? i know i need to buy a aftermarket one, but what parts will be necessary to fix it properly?

Find a 1g, buy BOV. Or find one some one is parting out, like me.

looks like a stock 2g

Get yourself a 1g bov or whatever other brand you like, Greddy, HKS, I would just look for quality don't buy some knock off peice of crap. You can find adapter plates to fit up to your stock IC piping for alot of the aftermarket bov's. If anything you could find a stock 2g to just swap it out. I'm sure alot of dsmers have one laying around in the closet or garage.

You should just go ahead and find a new bov instead of attempting to repair the one you have.

Yea that is the stock 2g BOV and in no way does it look custom, What happend is the pervious owner broke of the vaccum line and used rtv or jb weld to recconect it. My car had something similar but not nearly has nasty looking as that.
