I've been searching but couldn't find anything on this. I'm trying to figure out what a complete a/c system for a 1g is worth, I have a complete system on my car and am going to remove it and my friend might be interested in buying it.

Thanks,
Kyle

Not to ruin your money profit but I sold mine for $30 and my other one I just threw away so not sure what they are worth that is just what I did.

You could always ask him what it's worth to him. Supply and demand... capitalism at work LOL

Haha well I was thinking more of if its not worth anything I'm gonna be lazy and just rip it out depending on how difficult it is, its always in my dam way and abs isnt treating me any nicer :banghead:

Yea my abs went out and I had to pull the fuse and I lock up in the rain. But the benifit is not money really from selling the a/c system but removing from the car is alot benifital if that helps. It shouldn't really be that hard to drop it I had no issue.

If the compressor is not locked up then you have around $350 to $450 for a used compressor that works. The hoses I would value at $50 a piece if they do not leak, the condenser assembly in front proly in the $150 dollar range. So, to get you a ball park your getting ready to remove almost $650 in used parts. He should have not had to remove or install the evaporator core but if you do need one or he does look at extra $100 in a new one.

Just remember if you ever wanted A/C back then your gonna pay probably $1100 range to get it back up and running again. That's about the average cost of and A/C failure right now that a shop will charge you to fix your A/C system if they was to do it right.

If in doubt call up NAPA give them your car year, make and model and ask them to quote you an entire A/C kit that gives you everything you need to fix your A/C system from the compressor all the way down to the o-rings and flushing solution and R-134a lubricant. That will give you an idea of the cost in a ball park kinda figure. It's hard to come up with exact numbers because of the amount of parts needed could be bought by many different vendors.

You may see that it is closer to the $900-$1100 dollar range value when you call them but remember those parts will be new or re-manufactured. Also you have to factor in labor so expect your friend to spend $250-500 in labor if he does not do the swap correctly.

I hope he pays you allot because imo your getting rid of something that's stock and hard to find anymore.
