99 Spyder Gst middle brake light panel?

Just wondering on my Spyder there's a white panel between the brake lights, what is this for? Looks like a huge backup light but it doesn't light up... Someone help?

That's the center section. It's normally red, but guys like to paint them the same color as the car. Someone must have painted yours white or replaced it with one that was already painted.

How I personally view it, if you have to creativity to think of something cool to do to it, it is a blank canvas.

That's definitely it, but it's not painted.. It's just like a huge reverse light but it doesn't go on when I put it in reverse, I kinda want to get one that's the color of the car though

Someone most likely replaced it with a clear or white aftermarket one. Regardless, it doesn't light up from the factory.

Unfortunately nobody makes painted center sections, it's something you have to do yourself. It's very easy and cheap. You just need some sandpaper, primer, and OEM color paint. You can get the paint from this site:

My car is just the silver color from the factory... Should I paint it this color? If so where do I get it?

If so thats a clear center piece for the rare set of 2g clear tail lights. If not post up some pics.

Also replacement center pieces are easy to find. Any 95-99 center piece will work just fine.

Whoever owned the car before you replaced/painted over the factory center section, which is red, to match the color of the taillights. They've never had any function, just aesthetics. You're back up lights are the round clear ones on either side of the license plate, about 2.5" in diameter, assuming you have a 2gb bumper cover.
