I am about to purchase a 99 GSX that is in mint condition but it has a funny problem. Everytime the clutch pedal is pushed to the floor, the car turns off. Anyone have a clue what the problem is??

Does the car have a turbo timer?

If it does it may be some faulty wiring with the clutch cutoff switch, or if it had dsmlink at any point in time and someone messed with the wiring for the clutch cutoff switch, that could also cause it.

Just an idea

The car appears to be completely stock. No aftermarket equipment at all. Im gonna check it out later today and take it for a test drive and see how bad the problem is. Im guessing ill either have to check all of the wiring to the cutoff switch or replace it. Thanks for the input. :thumb:

You know what would be good? If you have him, and you go with him of course, to a shop and have them look at it. And if there is a serious problem, tell the seller to get it fixed if he wants to sell you the car. And if he doesn't want to fix it. Move on to the next car.
But tell him that you will only buy the car if it is in perfect working condition. :thumb:

After looking the car over, it appears that it had a turbo timer, when it was taken out, looks like they butchered the wire job. If all goes through, the seller is gonna knock some digits off of the price and Im gonna fix it, should only take an hour or so. Thanks for the help. :shhh: :thumb:

Even though the problem is resolved I moved to problem diagnosis for archive and searching reasons.

Carry on.
