98 gst with 94 5 speed transmission

about a week ago a i bought a 98 gst. I was told it needed a clutch slave cyllinder . The slave cyllinder was not touching the fork. I figured clutch burnt , so i removed the transmission , and put a clutch on. Clutch fit fine , the flywheel looked good 7 bolt 110 teeth , no cracks. went and bolt trans back on, everything bolt up fine , but i noticed there was alot of travel where the throw out bearing slides and meets the clutch. when i push clutch fork towards the clutch it seems the fork touches the clutch fork stop right when the throw out bearing touches the clutch. So i started to wonder if i have the right trans , because also the slave cylinder still would not touch clutch fork. so i took the slave cyllinder off , figured it may be wrong one, I am not sure what was all swapped before i got car , seller was shady , and did not say much. When i was at zone , they pulled a slave cylinder for a 98 gst , and it was different , so we went back a few years and finally , find a slave cylinder for 1994 eclipse that matched. So it appears i have a 94 transmission. Is there a fix to this? Or do i need to get a 98 trans? If someone made an adjustable pivot ball that would extend my clutch fork 1/4" and would help. Everything bolts up fine , just there is too much distance to allow the clutch fork to do its job and disengage the clutch , thank you

How are the engine mounts on the transmission? 1g transmissions only have one mount, 2g's have three. Are you sure it is a 94 transmission?

it has 3 mounts. one on top with 4 studs coming out , a mount in the rear , i believe 3 bolts hold on that one , and in front by the radiator is a mount 2 bolts hold it on there. seems they are all 17 mm bolts. It appears to be the right transission , but the slave cyllinder that was mounted to it , is for a 1994. the 98 slave cyllinder mounts different , the bolt holes are sideways , where the 94 slave cyllinder the bolt holes are say in the same direction as the slave cylinder shaft if that makes sense

Maybe it is a 95 tranny rather than a 94? You should be able to check the numbers on it to verify the year. Unless someone went to alot of work to have mount locations created on the transmission, it is most likely a 2g

i took some photos here a link Untitled like , the fork goes all the way back before it touches the clutch , even if i got a slave cylinder with longer shaft it wont release the clutch

Sounds like you have a bent clutch fork of badly work pivot ball. The tranny is 100 percent a 2g transmission if the mounts bolt to the front and back.

i read another post and was informed a cast iron clutch fork does not bend. only cracks. I am going to order another pivot ball , kirk
