got a big problem !

I converted my eclipse into non modular clutch set up last summer. I have a new clutch disk to put in because i just burned the one that is in my tranny. Now im doing a new clutch disk. The guy who sold me the parts recently, told me it was for a 95-99 non turbo eclipse non modular or modular set up? He said the clutch disk is 9 inches , which is the size of a modular clutch set up, because i did some research and came up with this

Clutch Hydraulically operated 228 mm [9.0 in] modular single dry plate

I dont know the size for non modular tho?

Now im confused , my flywheel is made by fidanza but i dont know the size of the flywheel that the clutch disk can fit. I just dont want to take my transmission out then the clutch disk doesnt fit and i have no car for a while.

Can Anybody Please Help, i tried so many websites to find out and i got nothing. I highly doubt newbies wont know what im talking about, no offence , sorry. But maybe some 1 who is a pro on here who will know what im talking about and can help me out.

Thanks alot Manny

Straight from the Service Manual. Hope it helps.

Clutch disc facing diameter: ODxID mm(in)
NT = 228x150 (9.0x5.9)
Turbo = 225x150 (8.9x5.9)

I'm pretty sure they should be the same size. If they weren't you wouldn't be able to put a non-modular clutch in there in the frist place, right? I'm sure you know that modular just has to do with the clutch and flywheel assy being riveted together into one unit.

I don't know how much this helps or if it helps at all, but I figured I'd give it a shot. Did you get the info from the Service Manual? You should DL a copy if you haven't already.

Good luck.

yea i understand about them being together ... i did the setup my self the problem was that i bought the spec stage 2 clutch from howell automotive. I had it closed in a box for like 2-3 month then last summer i tried to install it and i noticed that I needed a flywheel for it to work. I called up howell and told them, you gave me a nonmodular instead of a modular. They said it was more then 30 dyas or somethign and it couldnt be returned.

I basically proceeded the installation and found out my last mechanic put in a Sach Clutch (pressure plate, clutch disk, flywheel, together in 1 piece) had special bolts so that it couldnt be open. To take everythign off, there was 4 bolts behind which was called the flexplate that was on the crank.

I opened up the spec clutch and everything was seperate like a normal car. I basically knew i had to get a alluimum flywheel to make my spec clutch all work, so i bought a 1995 Non Modular Fidanza Flywheel with bolts , everything seemed to fit , and soved all my problems.

The spec pressure plate is good, but the clutch disk heats up so quick it slips after a couple races, getting to the point that now i can barely drive because it slips like crazy, I checked the clutch master cyl and it was working properly.

Now i ordered a clutch disk from clutch-net and the guy who sold it told me that it should fit eiether a non modular or modular clutch. The info you gave me was for a modular clutch. I just wanted to make sure and knew if anybody had info for a Non Modular Clutch, but maybe i guess your right it might fit.

I just want to be sure tho , if anybody has info for a 95 Non Modular Clutch disk size. Can you please post it , i would appreciate it thanx
