97head on 95 gsx?

ok so i have a block but no head and have got ahold of a 97 head. so my question is do i have to do anything special to get the thing to work? like i've heard if you have a 97 car and want to put an eprom in it you have to change the firing order and invert the cas signal. So am i going to have to do anything special to make this all work can i just plug in the 97 cas with the 95 car?

It should hook right up and work...also the 2Gs have eprom ecu's so no need to change it or anything like that. Ill go to vfaq and pull up a pic so you can see an ecu with eprom and look at yours just to make sure. Well right now I got to go, but heres a good place to look about the eprom ecu, and what ever else you need.Hope I helped in some way for ya.

thanks for the reply. but let me clarify a little bit more here. I have a 95 gsx with an eprom and i have a 95 7bolt bottom end. Now i've been lookin to get a head for it and i've got myself a 97 head. so all i'm wondering is will the 97 head just bolt up or what issues am i gonna have with the cas and firing order. oh and i'm 99.9% you gave me the wrong link. no problem though just figured i'd point it out.

I'm glad you asked about the CAS. IMO, swap out of the intake cam from the 95 into the 97 because you will want to use your 95 CAS . The 97 intake cam has the slits to accomodate the 97-99 CAS style.

there is no such thing as 95-96 cams bro... cams are pretty much either universal or 1g/2g specific.

ok sounds good i wasn't sure the 97-99 have that different cas that has something to do with the cam specificaly. So i was just covering myself. Nothing worse then buying the wrong things and having to send it back. thanks to all of you for the info.
