ok i have a 97 n/t rs 420a car runs great but every morning or at nite after the engine cools down it wont start ive checked the obvious fire first and its not getting fire to the plugs but if i park the car in the sun around 10 am the car will start right up very upsetting i cant wait till 10 everyday and winter is coming soon is there a sensor that controls this or does anybody have any good ideas after it starts it runs fine just wont start when its cold please help !!

I know the turbo cars have cold start issues when the FIAV is going bad or eliminated. I am not 100% on the 420a cars as I have not done a lot with them. If you have any more information about what its doing would be helpful.

Crank over?
Does it fire? (you have spark?)
you are getting fuel?
CEL?
any other issues with the car? (major or minor)

thanks for replying well i am getting fuel ,but no fire, the engine is cranking over just doesnt have fire to the plugs and it only happens when the car is cold and not real cold like 70 degress and under if its hot or in the sun the car fires up and runs like new and im not kidding it runs great this is a really strange problem could coil packs do this ? thanks for the input any help is greatly appreciated ,mike

idk for sure if the fuel injector resistor box ties into the ignitoin coil packs but i know for sure resistance can change with temp..........idk for sure if that car even has that but if its cranking and getting fuel that somewhere there has to be a high resistance if it starts when the ambient temp is higher than watever u said i think it could be something with the coil packs or do u know if this car has an ecm that is on the coil pack or hooked up to it under the hood? i would check that my first car was a tornado LOL with the v6 and it did the same thing and it was the ecm thats under the coil packs
