car wont start when its cold

every morning i try to start my car it cranks but wont turn over,if i keep trying it will eventually it will start. but ive gone through a couple batteries and starters doing so. I have spark and i smell fuel, if i spray fuel in the intake tube it fires up but i need to hold the thottle down for a few seconds for it to run at idle and not die. Now ive replaced my coolant temp sensor, tps sensor and coilpack. Should i change my timing belt and do a compression test. Oh yeah once the car warms up it starts back up no prob. what else could prevent it from starting when its cold. anything would help. thanks in advance.

My car has problems starting when its cold in the morning sometimes too. Will probably start happening to me soon, close to the end of the month, I just take it as a sign pretty soon I need to put it away for the winter

Do you still have your cold start feature on your car, I apologize I can't think of the sensor but it is on the bottom of the throttle body and it cracks open the throttle to allow more fuel in when the motor is cold. And when the motor is warm it does not open, so that kinda sounds like what you are having problems with.

P.S mine does exactly what you are saying because I removed my cold start from my car, when it was acting up. I have to step slightly on the gas to start the car and it will not idle properly until the motor is slightly warmed up.

Its a sensor and is located underneath the tb.

i was told that underneath the tb is the egr, is this a dealer item? the cold start sensor that is.
