97 GSX Wiring problem

My buddy has a very nice and well put together 97 gsx. He called me the other day and said his dash and parking lights dont work anymore. I went over to check it out and fould a few fuses blown. Well, I replaced the one for the dash lights and they worked fine but when I replaced the one out under the hood for the tail lights it blew instantly! So I started to look around to see if I could find the short. No luck... I unpluged all the parking and tail light harnesses, unpluged the lights to his gauges and still it blowes the fuse!!

He said he was just driving into a parking lot and the car acked funny and his lights went out. Has any of you had somethink like this happen? Or could you give me a little better direction to go in? Thanks..

Did you check the 100A alternator fuse yet?

Also, just a reminder, it's a good idea to disconnect the negative cable from the battery when working on anything electrical

check the grounds see if any positive cables are hitting it....he definately has a short somewhere.... open up the fuse box in the engine bay and check if any of the wires are burned or touchin each other ....use a test light for cottinuity or volt meter to see the parasitic draw ....goodluck
