ok guy so im a big newb with my new 92 talon tsi awd, i bought it as a shell and when i got it the windows were rolled down. so i tried hooking up a battery charger to the car to roll them up. well when i did i ran the positive to the positive of the alternator wire instead of the battery wire. and grounded the the battery charger and everything was fine the dash lit up and everything and when i went to try to roll the windows up its seemed like i drained all the power and everything went off. went to look at the connection and everything seemed fine. but when i tried to turn the key to see if the dash light up it didnt. so now i have no idea what i did. any feed back would be great thanks!

Sounds like the charger can't handle the power needed. You're going to need at least a 20 amp charger output to handle the current draw required when the key is turned on assuming the engine is hooked up - more if you also have a weak battery installed. Connecting to alt large positive wire is ok if the alt fuse is good (it goes to B+) - just make sure it doesn't touch any metal. Jumper cables to another battery may be a better way.
