2G 97 gsx auto to manual swap

Hey all, this is my first post. Just posting for help and not looking for "use the search" replies. I recently purchased a 1997 gsx auto and im interested in swapping to manual. The thing I can't figure out is the transfer case. Ive spent a long time looking for answers, but can't seem to find anything helpful. Is there a difference between the two that requires swapping this part?

Yes. Auto and manual tcases are different, and auto tcases are different for 1g, 2ga and 2gb. I believe you can use a manual t case from any 95-99

Just buy the transmission and t-case together. Most people sell them as a pair so you can get a good deal. Thats usually the easiest way of knowing the two will work.
