read all the other 2 posts from a few years ago. didnt help so i figured i would post my problem myself. i searched thru pretty much ever post i coukld to try to find out but maybe somone can help me. so, i recently put a new front mount on my car and it is a stock T25 with greddy bov piping and stoch intake with air filter adapter. as it gets colder outside here in florida the car runs good but at the same it runs like Sh#$!!!!! when i accell in 2nd and up in over 2000 rpm or over 10 poounds of boost it starts to cut out and eventually it will stop but i dont want to break anything. and the thing is when it gets hotter the car doesnt do it and it did it a few times before the new front mount so i know its not that??? so im lost on what it is!!! please help

i also was told to put a bigger fuel pump in it and i ordered a 190 walbro pump. i have new plugs as well and brand new wires........

Your title makes it sound like typical fuel cut when turning the t25 up to anywhere from 16-19psi on stock fuel system. Do a boost leak test, since you just installed the fmic, what size core is the fmic? Check all ignition components. Also check wastegate actuator for free movement, and vacuums lines around all that make sure there in the right order.

ya when i bought the car i did a full tune up and new plugs and mitsubishi wires. did a boost leak test as well. another weird thing about it is that i only pull maybe 12 pounds tops???? i dont know what it is with that but i i was wondering what the deal was with that as well. even if i crank the boost controller all the way open it only reads 11-12 pounds and thats it????? and ideas on what that might be??? i was told that the waste gate on thosee turbos dont open up all the way but i have no idea what else it could be and the car runs good. even right now its hot out and the car is not cutting ut but when its cold it does instanly during high boost???

Like mentioned, A boost leak is possible if you haven't tested for one since installing the front mount. Another thing to think about is the ambient air temp. How cold is it when you say cold?

Colder air is more dense, requiring more fuel to attain the same AFR as a warmer thinner ambient temp. It's possible that your maxing out the stock pump. Do you have a wideband or a data logger of some sort to keep an eye on AFR?

no i dont have any loggers or afr yet. i put a 190 lph wlabro in it since over the weekend. i did a boost leak before the front mount and all was good. i also checked the gap and it was at 52!!!! wtf i know so i dropped it to about the 29-30 and its running alot better. i also put another new set a wires on it and it seems to be running better now. but ya cold weather in florida is around 40's when its cold.

im trying to get arond 350-400 hp daily driver. thats my goal and i am pretty much getting info from a few people on which things to get for the car. im ordering a 16g but i was continplating a 20g. is there that much of a difference. and do i need to go full dsm link or can i use a safc II with evo 560 and a pump. ive read on some different posts that the apexi cant go over 650 or something. do you guys know anything about that or if i will be able to reach my goal???

Don't quote me on this, but I thought the t25 topped around 10-12 psi? I didn't know the tiny 25 was rated to handle higher than 12.

Another thought, it could be cutting if you have the stock injectors running a bigger fuel pump and t25. Your F/A ratio may be wack.

LOL ya i think your right actually ive seen some pull 15-16 pounds. mine dont go over 11. it will peak at 13-14 and stay at a constant 11 even with the controller all the way open. some peole say that the way the wastegate is designed that they dont fully open up all the way... weird.

but im running stock 45 lb injectors out of a 99 gsx that were in better condition then my old ones. i didnt think that it would be fuel cut because I dont run high boost or anything over 12 lbs. the pump just makes it a good constant flow and once i swap either a 16 or 20g then ill have to go up and i found a buddy of mine that has a starter and 560 evo 9 injectors for 100 bucks so i might grab em. im just trying to stay away from buying expensive stand alone computers cause i only have a limited amount of dollars my way. LOL but i think a safc should be fine....

Stock boost on most 2g's is 14psi, so if you cant get atleast that something is wrong. Ecmlink the best investment I have made yet :) and you can run higher boost on a t25 I ran around 18psi,but turbo didnt last to long LOL. I also had 550's, w190 and ecmlink already and better flowing exhaust. I don't recommend at all that you run any higher than like 16psi on a t25, any more and your basically pushing hot air. And it's not about the wastegate being able to open all the way, its keeping it shut to build and hold higher boost.

Ya so I'm pretty much gonna get a link is there that much of a difference between the light an full version?

Stock turbo 16 PSI is max.. but running max = blow it up shortly LOL, better with 13 - 14 psi.

Just find good used parts on here from users with good rep. Start simple 14b's can be found cheap and are proven to out do the t25 and are easy to learn to rebuild. Then just nab some inj, fuel pump, and ecmlink wide band, boost gauge and your set to do alittle tuning and learn the ropes.

ya thats was my plan i was debating 16 or 20g and mild cams and a V2 link 750 injectors and 190 pump i already have the 3 inch down pipe fullexhauset and ported manifold.

intake exhaust etc. i found some1 in tampa who has a 95 eprom ecu for 150 obo and then found some1 in orlando with a dsmlink V2 with the chip not socketed for another 150???? you guys think that is a deal to jump on???

Thank you for writing this thread I learned some thing. I was wondering the same thing. I live in New Jersey and my car usually ran 14 psi in fall but once temps got in the low 30s or lower is doing same thing. I got a 14b or 16g not sure but one guy said might be 16g cause of the j pipe. But in this weather I notice that car spooling up quicker and citing out around 8 and up so I just stay around 5 psi until I can do a boost leak test. My car eating gas when I start it I smell gas so I'm guess my o rings on the injectors might be my leak. Any replies can help thanks. I have 97 talon tsi 5k on the motor. 14 or 16g turbo and looking to replace the turbo x elf to stock or 1g bov since they can hold better then this crap
