I recently bought a 97 eclipse gst with a motor from a 95, car has the stock 97 ecu in it. Car wouldn't start at all when i got it but with a little messing around with the plug order and changing the spark plugs the car starts up and idles fine, when i rev it up it'll hit 3k rpm's and sputter till its past 3k then revs up to redline just fine, do i need to wire a 97 cas in it or what? Any thought will help out.

previous owner put a 95 motor in a 97 and the plug order needed changing?
Sounds like you may have a other issues as well.

95 has a cam angle sensor behind the cam shaft sprockets. 97 has cam angle sensor on left side of cam shaft. Which one is being used?

If it starts and sputters, then revs fine, I would check for intake leaks or boost leaks. is the bov recirculated?

What would happen due to the bov recirculating if done incorrectly? I've been thinking about maybe trying it out.

Use an older cas 90-94.

Why, there are already 2 2g sensors that work just fine with his application that won't cause a random misfire issue. The 2ga and 2gb sensor will work if it is wired in right, you will just need to switch the firing order. If it still isn't running right after that than something else is wrong.

try recirculating the bov. or at the very least make sure the hole on the intake pipe is sealed solid.

I was having some strange problems because I did not want to do a complete vacuum delete. The hose from the charcoal canister that goes to the intake, was leaking big time and I didn't know it. Mostly I had idle problems. Did a vacuum delete and and sealed the hole on the intake - problem solved.
