Hey all,
I made an intro and posted up some pics of my car a couple weeks back and just wanted to log a journal to keep updates. I don't plan on going boosted because I'm not really interested in doing any mods that will require me to get anything more than 87 Octane or reduce my reliability. Putting a turbo on with me behind the wheel would just be asking for trouble anyway. That said, if I can get 200 at the crank without affecting my fuel economy, I'll be happy. If I can't get to 200, I'll do some weight reduction (which I've started) and be satisfied. Just to recap:
When I bought the car, it was completely stock and the body wasn't looking too pretty. The original paint after a wash looked like it hadn't been touched for years in the elements...which it was. Either way, here is a little update. There are other things, but for now, this is what I have: I might upload more later on today.
Here are some pictures, all of which were taken on my rooted droid fascinate:
Here is the motor before...

and after...

The stock exhaust was leaking through a bunch of holes all over the S bend...

...and I decided to replace the entire exhaust instead with a dc 4-2-1 header, hi flow cat (with o2 sensor mod to prevent codes) and magnaflow catback.

Here she sits:
I keep forgetting to remove that blasted exhaust hanger. No worries, will get it done today

Modifications to the engine bay aren't complete. I'll be getting a UDP (cutting off the a/c section and balancing it), I removed most of the A/C and power steering components and I'll be doing some more work on the intake side without changing the aesthetics of the engine bay much. I'll post up what I do and since this is my daily driver, there will be updates how everything all fits together.
It seems my upgrades so far have helped with my fuel economy, very good thing.
.
Questions/comments are welcome.
