Hey,

I just got my 97 Front. I know a lot of people cut this bumper up for better flow. I was wondering because I've seen a couple different ways to cut it. I wanted to know how effective they are.

I haven't seen any one cut out the red area yet, but if you remove the crash bar then you could probably get flow through there...But I figure that if I'm going to cut that I might as well take out the full lip (Yellow). Also I've seen people cut 2 ovals above the mouth (green) which I would assume that would cool the radiator. I've also seen the wide mouth (blue) and thought it might be over kill.

Thanks guys. Function>form

I can do that, I'll get pics and video if I can. Would it be worth putting the 2 holes in the bumper for flow or would it just make it ugly.

I have a front mount and I cut were you have the yellow line. I looks alot better than the way it was before and well it has to flow better you know. I like the way it turned out but cutting was not as easy as I thought. Also about those ovals I did see a thread on here somewhere about someone doing that. They logged the temperatures and it did drop engine/intake temps.

Cutting holes in the bumper looks straight fugly. Unless you really, really plan it and do something with the metal edges, it looks like a hack job. I say cut the main bumper part, and if you're still overheating or need more airflow to your intercooler, make ducting around them.

I like the way this silver one was cut... Haven't seen too many people do it.

i like that too, would like to see more pics. Was thinking about taking out the full lip, like the the yellow in emoguitarboy first post. but that silver one is kinda interesting. Have to see if it is a lasting good impression or just an initial thats different factor.
