96 will start but not drive???

Ok so I was driving home and pow my shifter cable snapped.with the help of a passer bye I got my car to a parking lot after calling every part house in town I was Promptly told no one has the shifter cables Nor could they order one. Thank god for u-pull it I got the cable I then put the cable on and nothing. My car will start in any gear I have it in and I can take my foot off the Clutch and it won't die are move and it is in any gear. Any help would be great thanks

Ya sorry to hear the problems your still having. The fluid going bone dry did lead to the premature failure of the clutch. Im glad that nothing happened to you or your son. When you go to put the new clutch on fill it up and bleed it out and I would keep my eye out for any leaks and the fluid level so this doesn't happen again gets to be costly and time consuming in which I know you already know. Hope all goes well with the repairs.

Your welcome I am a family man also so I feel for you. My poor car is sitting also my water pump decided it was time to leak. So now im waiting on parts and time to get it back on the road. So do you have any big plans for this car or just really a dd that's good on gas?

Sorry to hear about your car being out of commission as well. And I have some plans in the works just don't know if I'm Leaning Towards going N/A Are forced induction. This is my first dsm and I'm in love I sold my rx7 to get this car and I want it to look Seamless and be fast as well.

Ya I have an 1990 eagle talon tsi was out drag racing it completely held up for about a month of doing it so not to upset its my fault its down . I got it about 6 months ago it was a rescue mission it was sitting out in a field for 6 years paid 500 for it so now its time for all the maintance I should have done in first place. on a slipping clutch and 150k stock everything my best time in 1/8 is 10.3 but im sure it will run much better with everything fixed for next year. Im sure with time and some money you can make your fast even if its n/t

Nice. Yea I had mine for about 5months now i had to Replace the radiator , Fuel pump, Fuel sending unit, fuel filter, Both fuel solenoids, Throttle position sensor and now I'm Battling the clutch I don't even get to look at any goodies yet So far all my cash goes to keeping her Running. And I paid 3,700 for her

Ya sometimes you get a good one and sometimes you get a bad one. Sounds like your getting stuck with all the previous owners neglect and wear and tear of the car. usually when I get a car that starts to be a money pit I part ways and find something in better shape. I try not to get attached to cars but got to say I do like this talon and hasn't been to much of a pain yet. Hopefully it holds up fairly well.

Yea I hear ya on that but after losing my rx for this one I'm on a mission to give her life the funny thing is I Bought it from a mechanic it was his car go fig right. But it ok I was going to Upgrade the clutch anyways just not this soon .

Ya my teacher always says the mechanics car is always the last to get worked on and often pushed over the limits . My teacher drove is neon with it knocking and intill the head gasket finally went out on it. oh and not to mention he put nos on it

Ya when I was attending school to get certified we also had a 240 with an ls1 swap and nitrous on that also was supper fast and hard to keep on road. Really would be a monster at track. It really opened my eyes to the possibilities of automotives and why im sticking with my talon for a while.

Nice. I always wanted to go to school but never made it have to stay home with jr. And I love my eclipse and was think of geting a talon as well.

Ya around tx there kinda hard to get so I will hold on to mine. Ya took me awhile to get to school but my wife works and I get money from gi bill so that's only way I can afford to go right now. But if you can get into school I would learn a lot depending on what kind of school you go to.

There's a UTI in tx I wanted to go to. And right now it's cheaper for me to stay home with the kids ### my wife makes the money plus it's good to have a wife that's a gm at a restraint free food is the best.
