2G 96 Talon TSi AWD Sputters when full throttle

i just picked up a 96 talon tsi awd... and it is completely stock, just needed a turbo. so i replaced it with a factory t25 ( that was on it ) and it runs great, just when i give it full throttle it sputters or hesitates... as if it had bad spark plugs, so i put brand new plugs and wires in it, and i still does it.... i can go half throttle and it be fine, just when i go WOT it does this... im not to sure what it could be...

He is local to me, Actually 2 minutes from my garage and a personal friend. After telling me he did a tune-up for the most part (plugs/wires/air-filter), I suggested the fuel filter. I believe it's either the fuel filter, Or as you said, The filter on the actual pump. If the car has run low on fuel alot in the past and present, all the crap from the bottom of the tank is going to get sucked and clogged into the filter on the fuel pump.

I'm pretty sure he's going to do a fuel filter and now once he see's this, He'll be able to quick pull the fuel pump out being it takes 5 minutes, And check the fuel pump sock/filter.

Ummm, if you remove the vacuum line from the BOV to the intake, it will NOT go back into the turbo, but it WILL vent to the atmosphere, which will cause issues with idle and how it performs. I am sure he meant that the line to the intake was plugged, and not the BOV itself.

Hey smart guy, if you remove the vacuum line from the BOV, it will not actuate (open). You're talking about the recirculation tube.

Fuel filter and FUEL PUMP SOCK/FILTER!the one attached to the fuel pump change it.20 bucks.but let me tell you,this little filter gave me hell.I couldn't go full throttle for months.changed everything..fuel filter(but not pump sock),plugs and wires,coil pack,resistor pack,cam angle sensor,million boost leak tests,ecu,injectors,fpr,man I mean everything!until I hit the fuel pump.put in a new wally 255 with new sock.motors runs like a rocket.3 days later same exact problem????so I take pump out again and my pump sock was once again,filled with rusty crud everywhere.replaced again and back to seeing my tailights for my friends.blt 1st,fuel filterS next.btw my fuel pressure at idle was always 36 at idle/at fuel filter making this problem super hard to diagnose.

Someone is forgetting the rules.

Not being mean, but everyone here has been suggesting a Boost leak test, which you haven't done yet. I'm willing to bet thats a possible problem. Do a boost leak test, look at vfaq.com under turbo for a tutorial.

Then once you've done it, we can all help you much better than now.

What about a coil pack? I had the same problem with my old talon but I bought a set of NGK wires and plugs and it fixed it. But a coil pack was next on my culprit list.

well i did both fuel filters, and no change... i am going to do a boost leak test and get back to everyone... thanks!

so... today i did a boost leak test today... found one leak on the number one injector seal ( to manifold) and another slight leak that sounds to be somewhere right above the OEM intercooler right behind the bumper... didnt get a chance to get the bumper off, but i plan on it tomorrow... hoping this is the problem..

Dude didn't you kno DSMs don't need injector seals? They're invincible.

well apon doing the boost leak test... i also heard a hiss sumwhere on or above the intercooler... i cant seem to pin point it...

it was a tiny boost leak... but i waas running autolite plugs and when i switched to NGK it cleared right up

hey guys. my car is kinda doing the same thing except...with the clutch in or in neutral i can push the gas all the way to the floor fast and it kinda sputters almost like some sort of launch control. at least thats what it sounds like i can hold it there all day if i want to it wont move above about 2500k. even if i just barley push the gas i can very slowly bring it up to about 4k and then floor it and it will almost sound like i turned off the engine untill it gets below 2k then that sputtering thing will start and come up to about 2500k and just bounce there.
(just a little history bought the car a month ago not running turned it over heard valves hitting took the cams out did a comp test 60psi in 1cyl zero in all others took head off super bent valves but timing belt was new from previous owner? maybe installed it wrong idk. but got the head rebuilt new valves seals belts put it all back together few tweeks got it running pretty smooth at idle now but when ever i push the gas more that 1/4 at idle it sputters and when im driving even if i keep the gas at 1/4 or less as soon it gets to about 3500 maybe 4K it does the same thing almost like ive felt fuel cut in a friends car of mine just total loss of power and acceleration. boost gauge hooked to intake mani reads no boost n when im driving and the gauge is just about to break zero and go into boost on a slow acceleration boom it cuts out. please help?
