I have these two distinct strange metal on metal noises that my car makes on occasion.

If I'm at high rpm's in 2nd, and let off the accelerator, I get this brief noise, almost sounds like the shift cable jerking really hard or something. Someone suggested bleeding the clutch....I'm going to do that after I replace the fluids, but my gut tell me I doubt that's what is causing that.

The thing that concerns me more is this:

If I'm making a left turn, seems especially if I'm downshifting into 2nd for a turn, there is a relatively unsettling noise coming from what I think is the driver side front wheel. Sounds almost like a tie-rod is torqing hard, or something along those lines. I don't quite know how to describe the noise, just a very brief metal clicking noise. Almost like something that doesn't want to twist/turn is twisting. I might try to record the sound, but I'm fairly certain it's got to be either the CV joint, or a tie rod or something. Best way I can really describe it, is a metallic "ka-chunk".

It does occasionally happen in other situations, but it only seems to occur while turning, and if it's not while making a 20-25 mph left turn, it's usually when I'm backing my car out, and turning the wheel extremely far to one side.

I suspect tie-rods, but I was just hoping someone else might have had the same problem, and could give some insight.

Well, I tried to, but the recall sticky's seem to be gone?

I actually have a good friend that works at a mitsu dealership, I should just have him see if I'm up for any recalls, I'm sure I should be able to avoid the typical drama.

I'm wondering if it could be related to that control arm recall?

ionno, I'm white.
