this is the prob. i got a 95 awd talon. when i start the car and it is at idle the car runs fine. I can drive it around and it runs fine. only when it gets out of vacuum it starts running like crap, kinda like 2 cyl are not firing. no power, it wants to die, and i have to play with the throttle to get it to idle but still sounds like it is missing 2 cylinders. I can turn the car off for about a min and start it back up and it idles fine until i drive it around and get it out of vacuum then it starts running like crap again.. wierd?

car has big16, 3in exhaust(no cat), no sub o2 sensor,
*no signs of vac leaks
*all intercooler pipng is conected

help pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

It sounds exacly like a boost leak.

Perform one of these and you may be supised what you find.

2nd that. Pressurize the intake and use soapy water on all the connections.

nope, it wasnt a boost leak. now the car is acting a little different, instead of running like crap when it gets out of vaccume, it starts running crapy when i get it to bout 5ish pounds of boost. Also today when i was out driving the car to make it start acting up it also started knocking! so i thought maybee i had a broke valve or something? so i did a compression check on the cylinders, and cly 1,2,4 all had about 170ish psi, but cly no. 3 was like 135ish... which i know is bad but not to the point where i had a valve break off or something. the motor has like a 180k on it so what ev, i can deal with that a little while longer. so tomorrow i am giving it a tune up, but i think its the coil pack.? what do you guys think??

oh yeah, i took the valve cover off too to see if the knocking was coming from the valvetrain . but nope, everything looked good in the hood, i put it all back together and the knocking wes gone?? I think my car just had one of those days where the lifters decided to click for no aparent reason??

any ideas you can give me would be greatly appreciated!!thanks

5 psi huh? I had this exact problem. Everyone told me to change my spark plug wires and I thought they were fine. I immediately looked for the worse. Changed them and felt like and idiot for not doing it in the first place. Try plugs/wires and you might get lucky like I did.

sweet dude. tomorrow im doing a tune up. i was thinking tunup before a coil just cause its cheaper and it hasnt been done for like a year. but that makes me more comfortable that it might be that and i dont have to buy a coil. thanks alot man, ill let you guys what happens tomorrow.

I second the plugs first, then the wires.

My wife put 87 in the tank once and it ran just like that too -- no boost and it was fine, boost = very bad.
