So i recently have swapped a 6 bolt in my 95 talon, everything has been a smoth and going surprisingly easy, until i got the car running and im having trouble connecting my laptop to my car. everytime i try and connect i get this msg (scan failed to find a workings connection)

My computer is a mac os x 10.6.8

Yeah i figured just making sure, ok yeah ill check that out when i have time tonight, would my engine scanner tool work though if i wasn't getting power? Cause ive scanned it for codes and its reading my scanner.

Yes i believe i have all the drivers ill try again in the mornings its my day off tomorrow and at the moment the stock ecu is back in the car because it stopped running on my a few days ago so i changed up a few things and it fired right back up, i dont believe it was the ecu though, it was having trouble getting fuel to the rail so i changed out the fuel relay, pump and regulator and the ecu cause i thought it had something to do with the chip and then she ran again.
I have a complete parts car so that's the only reason i changed all those things.

Ok thanks guys ill re download everything again and hopefully that works, and ill get back to everyone tomorrow. Thanks again for all the advice!

If it reads the scanner then power is not the problem. I always check that though it's crazy how often that fuse blows. I'd just try to re download everything off their site and go from there.

So i unistalled all the drivers and software and re downloaded everything. and i just put the chipped ecu back in and when i turn the ignition on the fuel pump relay which is located behind the passenger left kick panel makes a loud ticking sound??? Any ideas? I then put back in the stock ecu and it went away.

Crappy, i hope not but then again i was wondering if that was the case cause they guy i got it from did a shit job on the ecu. Is there any way i can save the chip and houseing on the mother board and put then on another ecu? Or can performance shops check out my ecu and see whats wrong with it?

No its not... its just the stock ecu, so i need an new eprom ecu i take it. Im pretty new with the tuning side so thanks for bearingwith me guys.

Thanks everyone for all your help!

The boys at ECMTuning are awesome. I had a problem with my 1990gsx ECU. They are very straight forward. Very knowledgeable. Great customer service. I contacted them and received lots of information. I sent my ecu to them via a flat rate box. Within 3 days they got back to me, repaired it, and shipped it back. A week after I sent my package my car was running. If your ecu has a problem those guys will find it and fix it if possible.

Have you went into "managed devices and saw the port for the usb. Then change your connection point to that spot. Whether it's com1,2,3,4 etc

I could be mistaken but i believe thats on for windows. ?

Ive tried locating the network ports in my mac and i haven't found anything.

Thanks for advice, i contacted the guys down at ECMTuning and like you said great customer services! They answered all my questions.

Your best bet is sending it to ecmtuning and having it repaired or send them you non eprom and they can convert it for you. Check out ecmtuning.com

Awhile ago a lot of you guys on this post help me out with many of my questions. Just wanted to say thanks again and it's been some time since I've been able to play my baby some more, so I contacted the guys and ecm tuning and sent in my ecu, yes unfortunately it was fried, no worries though they got it repaired and sent back to me in no time at all.

Now I'm having trouble getting the car to start I'm able to connect now with the ecm tuning program but I'm new the tuning side and was wondering if there's anything I need to change in the settings before the car will run.
