Here is the problem, i hit my gas and the car will stutter realllllyy bad. If i don't smash the gas and try to drive normally it feels like something is dragging the car, 80 percent or more of the speed taken away. But, if i do smash the gas it will go with no stutter, but still will not even see half the speed it use to before this problem arose. To give you an idea of what it feels like, it seems as if the spark plugs are not well.... sparking. Like they are all faulty or have oil leaking to them. I found oil in the spark plugs awhile ago, replaced the spark plugs, valve cover gasket and cleaned the holes and have gotten no results, still doing the same thing.
Things I have done to attempt to resolve this issue;
1. I have put fuel injector through the tank and ran the car through 2 full tanks.
2. I changed the spark plugs & the wires, cleaned out the spark plug holes.
3. Changed the valve cover gasket and cleaned my entire valve cover area.
4. Tried to double on the fuel injector cleaner.
Things i may have done to caused this issue;
1. Ran the car through winter without a gas cap. I got one now, and it's actually been hot outside on some days. But still no result.
2. I have heard around from a couple of my buddies they know that my EGR Valve is bad, I have yet to change it due to this issue for the reason that I took it to the mechanic shop down the street, they said a EGR Valve would not cause this issue.
Somebody help, I've got a competition coming up and I have to take the car to Florida in a week or so.
Additional Details;
114,000 miles on the engine, gear syncros under a grand, and the clutch is kind of worn but not that bad at all. Full Synthetic Oil Change with frequent oil in the engine, and all other liquids are kept up to date.
Thanks.
P.S. I ONLY RAN THE CAR WITHOUT A GAS CAP FOR ABOUT 2 WEEKS OR SO. STILL BAD I KNOW, BUT I DIDN'T MEAN ALL THE WAY THROUGH WINTER. For i live in Ohio, and that would be a long time. -_-
